Gaming Industry Continues to Explode; Animators Needed

With the gaming industry anticipating sales to grow from $33 billion in 2005 to $66 billion by 2011, the need for animators and gaming artists will continue to increase.  The gaming industry growth is fueled by the convergence of information/entertainment software in singular devices and the appetite for newer and more challenging games by current and future users. Seattle is ideally suited for gaming as it is a major center for numerous game companies.

To meet the need for digital artists, Seattle Central Community College offers a total game program consisting of four core classes which prepares students for computer digital artist positions.  Using 3D Studio Max 2009, participants learn a wide range of game development skills. This knowledge is invaluable, in order to produce the all important student portfolio required for entry into this exciting and dynamic field.

In addition, at the end of the program, students receive a Certificate of Competency in Computer Game Design.

Instructed by Jason Stokes of Arena Net, a local gaming company known for its popular online game, Guild Wars, students receive state of the art total game instruction which includes guest lecturers and tours related to the game industry.  For further information, click here (Centralcertificates.com).
